Many in Track King are turning their attention to breeding their mares and want to find the best stallions for them. Because of this the Breeding section has been created in the Racing Report. The Stud Book is now open. You will find two categories of stallions, Top 5 Enabled and Top 4 of 5 Enabled. Thanks to the owners, the stallions' Body Statistics and Racing Style information are available as well. The Stud Farms section in the Stud Book is now open as well. Hope this is helpful to many of the breeders.

The Bettors Night Before Christmas
(A Visit from Jockey St. Nick)
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the @derby,
Not a bettor was stirring, not even a lurker;
The betting slips were punch with precision and care,
In hopes that the Pick Six would soon be theirs;
The betting tickets were nestled all snug in their hands,
With visions of a six figure payoff and dancing in the stands;
And mamma in her @derby 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long paddock check,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the paddock to see what was the matter.
Away to the betting window I flew like a flash,
Tore open my wallet and threw down the cash.
The wad on the beast who's trainer has white hair,
He's got the speed figures to win this affair,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a Patrick Byrne trained horse with big funny ears,
With a little old rider, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be jockey St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his fans they came,
And they whistled, and shouted, as he called out their names;
"Now JohnnyV! now Walter! now, Gin and Carol!
On, Neil!, On Jon!, on Jim and Howard.
To the teller on the porch!
to the totes on the wall!
Now bet away! bet away! bet away all!"
As the horse prepared to let fly,
I considered my bet and looked to the sky,
So up to the starting gate the horses they flew,
With many a well known jockey or too.
And then, in a wink, I hear pounding of hoofs
I ran to another location on top of the roof.
As I viewed the race with binoculars from afar,
Straight to the front went St. Nick with the four.
He all dressed in his colored silks of red and white,
And his fans jumped to their feet yelling he's got them wiped;
A bundle of tickets were flung in the air,
All losers so why should anyone care.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
He headed to the winners circle for the final show;
The stump of dirt he held tight in his teeth,
As his fans encircled him like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little pot belly,
That shook, when he dismounted like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump for a old retired rider,
No other jockey would try any harder;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon let me to know that he had won the bread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his agent,
And filled his pockets with many winning tickets,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, into the limo he dove;
He sang out and gave his fans a whistle,
As he threw out the tickets like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL
A PICK SIX GOOD-NIGHT."

A British-bred colt bought for 100k start of last season, Donde starts from the most inside rail. Yet to break his maiden, he comes into the final after a solid showing last weekend, catching the punters by surprise with a very powerful finish to lose by 0.1 sec to Toon Left in the 2nd of Saturday’s heats. The Medititeranean saw a small field take the start with only six runners and three were having their first start. First up was grade III winner and favorite Woopsy Uralian. Second in the market was Somalian who is a full sister to last season's 2yo champion Of Glory. (Continue)
The biggest age-restricted race in TK history is finally here. This inaugural event, which is by invitation only, has generated as much controversy as hype among the community. The event, consisting of 6 races, requires all entries to race 2 rounds, over 2000m and 2400m, and the combined top 25 fastest times would earn a ticket into the final and a shot at the big prize, and the title of the inaugural winner of the European Derby.
This week, the strongest 3yo long and epic runners gather at the Mediterranean Coastal track for the first round. 2 races were held, the Mediterranean Oaks, which is for fillies only, followed by the Mediterranean Derby for all genders. Both races are over 2000m.
With a field of 18 runners and some of the best filly stayers from last season in the Oaks, Coco Papita was sent out a narrow favorite from Purple Haze and American Honey with a distant fourth in the market Denmark in his first start given an outside chance.
As the gates flew open, Coronation Star went to set the pace early with Coco Papita sitting back with a chasing pack of about half a dozen that debutant Denmark. (Continue)

Finally, our review ends with the 2yo Euro Tour Long races Leg 1. A total of 9 runners were assembled, and 5 of them are making their competitive racing debuts.
Last season, this prestigious series was won by woodchuckers with his champion Of Glory. And he signalled his intent to defend this unofficial title by clinching this 1st leg with Racing, in a quick time of 2:04.172 on a fast track, setting a new local track record for 2yos in the process. Round one of the Euro Sprint saw a small field face the starters orders with 5 first starters. One is the very expensive Dante's My Bitch from Rafindale Stables and another is one of the few 2yos with race experience Leadfoot lucy from Moonlight Stables. She was sent out as the favorite. (Continue)
Meggido was going into the Derby as the dominating force. She was unbeaten and was coming off a world record from her prevous start as a 2yo. The only doubt was the distance. (Continue)

The Donkey Series is a New Series Sponsored by Sunnymeads Stables
JimPompey of Sunnymeads Stables has started a new 3yo series this season for class 3-6 stables. He says "these stables find it difficult sometimes to compete with the big stables in the official Cup competitions. They can be frustrated over the lack of opportunities to win decent prize money outside of their league fixtures." He went on to say "many of these stables are still financially at the size that they are building up the stats of a 3yo with fairly limited abilities." (Continue)

A Talk with CaptainUnderpants of Velvet Underpants Stable
Q: Now with a name like Captunderpants I'm sure the TK community are a bit confused on the name. Care to explain how the name came to be?
A: Actually its an interesting story. Once I was captain of my football team and then another time i wore underpants and the name just came from there. Cambo apparently came up with the name?
Q: I have also noticed that you seem to love the country Ireland. Your picture is the Irish flag and your jockey silks are in the colours of the Irish flag. According to my research though, you are from the United States. Were you orignally from Ireland and if not why the love for the country? (Continue)
Starting from gate 1, Horta Velocity brings a big reputation into this final. Bred by top stable

training track accumulating race and track experience. (Continue)

Northern Dancer
You do not have to be a student of thoroughbred breeding to appreciate the impact Northern Dancer has had on horse racing.
His name is mentioned so often in reference to a big race winner that it could be thought he appears in the pedigree of every racehorse alive!
That’s not true, but his impact has been immense, nowhere more so than at Coolmore stud, the Irish powerhouse founded by John Magnier, Robert Sangster and Vincent Obrien in the 1970s. (Continue)

There are few more exciting things than watching your newly born 2yos in their first race. The
anticipation of how good your young horse could truly be - will it beat the OR , will its original stats work well for this particular distance, is my 2yo the beast I hoped it would be? Add to that an Apprentice
jockey only stipulation and you’ve got a very competitive race in almost every circumstance! (Continue)

The Bogabilla Cup was run at Sydney Harbour on Friday night where the very talented mare Bombay recorded a solid win. Bombay had recently claimed the 3yo of the season award and with her showing in the Bogabilla Cup she is set for more awards in my opinion.
After the race I caught up with Riddley the owner of Bombay and the Riddley Walker Racin stable... I asked Riddley a series of questions and here are the responses. (Continue)
The Racing Report's Excellence Awards Selection Committee has completed selecting the winners of Track King's Season 12 competition of 2yos and 3yos. The developers of Track King were a great help
as they have created some RSS feeds of various statistics. Those and additional RSS feeds that they
are currently working on will also make it much easier for the Selection Committee to decide on the Excellence Awards winners for Season 13. Unfortunately the 2yo and 3yo Best Race Sponor awards
will not be issued for Season 12, but will be issued for Season 13.
To see the winners of the Racing Report's Excellence Awards please click here. To discuss the awards please click here.
The 2yos - 4yos Points and Earnings System has been Revised
Season XIII will see a change in The Racing Report's 2yos, 3yos & the 4yos Points & Earnings
system. Points for maiden races will be included in the new season. In an effort to streamline
the stat compilations for the maiden graded stakes races
no points will be issued below 5th
place.
The purse levels for the 3 graded stakes races have
been revise in an effort to attract
more creations of Grade 2
races
for all three age groups. If sponsors want to attract more
participants to the maiden races they can increase the purse level, but the points level for
the first 5 finishers are mostly half the point level of Grade III races..
